model sheets

I have re-found this website which has a lot of examples of model sheets of a few vehicles/ weopens from ww1 and some of ww2, i have found them quite handy, as i am interested in this kind of thing. It also gives me a lot of practice, when it comes modelling, as i am going to involve some modelling in my personal development part 2 brief. As i am working on my portfolio website, and i dont have great website skills, i am going to work on models and some animation, so it will basically be filling content etc.

pro practice update

I know i havnt blogged properly in a while, this is mainly due to the fact that i have been doing a lot of sketching and research etc, in my sketchbook, and not had chance to come on here. As for the pro practice, we are in a group of three and before we have the interim crit, we have to produce 3 main ideas from many. As there are three of us, we have decided to each cover the 3 seperate ideas, using mood boards for each of the ideas, and to try and sell them etc. I will upload the sketches and then post them.
At the moment i have been working on a mock up 3d model on the idea that i have been developing. This is not final decided, it is only a mock up and a test, that it is why it is not very good quality etc. It has to be a rough mock up etc.

Well over the past week or so, i have been working on many things, as we got a hell of a lot of briefs, i had a lot of things to work out.
For the personal development part 2, i had decided to work on my portfolo website, which started off just after christmas as a side project. I have been researching of other social networking sites etc, and i am still thinking the overall website.
I havnt had much time for thinking for the pro practice, but of the ideas i have thought of, i have developed them further today. I discussed with Tom and we came up with a few main ideas. These ideas are to do with bottles and scrap heaps, i will say no more. Here are some scans of my sketchbook so far.












These are not in order, the order that i did do them in, are the smaller sketches first, folowed by the bigger ones and the one with a story etc.

Curved TV!

Ive found this really ace tv, which is really long and its curved, its a perfect tv for gaming, as the screen kinds of surounds you. The only thing is itl probably cost a hell of a lot.
The dimentiona are a massive 2880x900, this is like the ultimate widescreen tv!!

Problems

I have had to re think my personal development part 2 brief, this was due to the fact that i picked a brief which was on the dandad website. I had to do this for the professional practice brief instead. So now i am going to work on a portfolio website, which i have allready begun, but are having problems. This lead me to decide, it was time to do some proper research, and develop a proper online portfolio.

Gecko Studies

After a lot of web searching, i have found a reasonable located animation place in leeds, which im going to send them an email to them, once ive got my online portfolio set up properly and also a few others. This is a relativly small company, which do a numerous amount of different things, from Modelers, Animators, Character Designers, Storyboard Artists and Riggers. They seem to do all sorts, which is good, as there maybe a broad range of different tasks to do.Gecko studios

Personal development-part 2- wat i want to do, but cant!

I think i wanna go along the lines of this type of animation, want to have a go at something like this anyway, its just finding a brief which could match it.

Im having trouble at the moment and other things

Not getting very far with finding briefs for personal development, i have found the odd one, but they havnt really interested me yet.
On another note i found a rather interesting small animation company who have made succesfull animations for various tv shows and adverts. The animation is very much varied, its just an example that i have found of a small company which does small scale animation jobs etc. clickclick
