Website-updated

I have edited my front page slightly, as it needed to be edditied, i wasnt happy with the red background anyway, didnt go, i just wanted to be slightly different than usual, its just that the black background before just worked perfectly, and i wanted a change. Liam has given be some feedback, from my last blog,(in which i thank ye), it has helped, the font was terrible for the header, i have chosen a different one, looked at a few animation books and they all have a lot of very bold and strong style fonts, as i am interestd in that kind of media, i wanted to go along the same lines, however, as much i like the font that i have chosen, im not sure if its the right one, i feel i still need to play around with the header and its alignment.

By the way the website is built, based on templates, i am not using code, it is good for me to use templates, then edit them further.

Website

I have been working on a flash piece for my portfolo website, this is for the homepage, it is meant to be a preview of the entire website, it has a nice quick intro to the sort of things which i can do etc. However i am not sure whether i shud have a looping flash video or a still menu, where the user can click on the buttons and it will show the content. As i am not entirely sure i am going to have a go at both, and see whats best.


Currently on my website i have a loping set of images created using photobucket, it looks good, but as a professional, i dont want the 'photobucket' logo, and id rather have my own, to give it that personalised touch.

personal development

I havnt blogged about this for a while now, but i am just going to explain briefly what i have been up to regarding this.
As i am working on a personal portfolio website, there isnt much work needed to go into the actual main website mainframe, as i am using already existing templates, which i then edit slightly etc. There are still the design of the function and the organisation of the menu, but that is not too difficult. So i have come up with a solution of work, to fulfill more 'personal developments', i am going to work on a few different short animations at once, well probably maybe 2 or 3, and then to develop a good showreel of skills i have to show. So effectively that is my goal, to sell my skills, and to have these accessable on line, and not to have a professional distracting website, it has to be simple, yet has to relate to my skills. I still have to think all about these different scenarios etc, it is my brief.

essay idea

I have now come up with an intersting essay to do for my latest critical studies brief. I am going to investigate into identity in animated films, look at different cultures and societies etc, flesh out different styles, all relating to 'identity'. I know it is very broad, but im going to try and narrow it down further, i am still working on it.

model sheets

I have re-found this website which has a lot of examples of model sheets of a few vehicles/ weopens from ww1 and some of ww2, i have found them quite handy, as i am interested in this kind of thing. It also gives me a lot of practice, when it comes modelling, as i am going to involve some modelling in my personal development part 2 brief. As i am working on my portfolio website, and i dont have great website skills, i am going to work on models and some animation, so it will basically be filling content etc.

pro practice update

I know i havnt blogged properly in a while, this is mainly due to the fact that i have been doing a lot of sketching and research etc, in my sketchbook, and not had chance to come on here. As for the pro practice, we are in a group of three and before we have the interim crit, we have to produce 3 main ideas from many. As there are three of us, we have decided to each cover the 3 seperate ideas, using mood boards for each of the ideas, and to try and sell them etc. I will upload the sketches and then post them.
At the moment i have been working on a mock up 3d model on the idea that i have been developing. This is not final decided, it is only a mock up and a test, that it is why it is not very good quality etc. It has to be a rough mock up etc.
